Firsts

I know you are all wondering where my last posts disappeared to. Well some people don't like honesty. They don't like to see the struggles a child goes through when they come home. So today I will post some first pictures. The good happy days that are becoming more frequent.

First Time at a Mall & First Pretzel.

First Snow in America (yep same day)

Which leads to first time PLAYING in the snow.

Making snow angels for the first time.

First time playing on the toys at the mall (different day) and his first Icee (sorry no picture)

First Valentine's Day party at school.
(yes the dog ran off with one sucker and ate it)

We have other firsts like leg braces but I am a bad mama and don't have pictures of it. So I leave you with a picture he said
"Mom photo please."

He is right now tucked in his bed. Freshly bathed, legs stretched, lotion put on his dry knees. One happy little boy with a sad past. A past he is starting to tell us about. The night he was transferred...... The foods he likes but they did not have. The foods he did not like, but had to eat.

Adoption is hard and you can't save them all but it mattered to this one......

  1. Thank you for your updated post. Adoption is not easy and all kids, and their families, have understandable adjustments. Please know that the naysayers are NOT the majority and we appreciate your honesty and continue to pray for Pryce's, and your family's, growth and happiness!

  2. You should never have to hide the truth. Those of us going through the adoption process need to know the good, the bad and the ugly. I would encourage you to continue to post the hard stuff as well as the good stuff....we need to know what we are up against.

  3. LOVE the picture of K pulling Pryce in the snow... finally doting on the little brother she has been waiting for for so long. LOVE the picture of Pryce and his baby sister, looking so happy to be together. LOVE the picture of Pryce and his Daddy, laughing and fogetting about all the sorrows of this world, even just for a moment.

I know things are hard but you are right to cling to all the good moments. They will keep coming more and more.

  4. Wonderful pics! I read your other posts & appreciate your honesty. I can only imagine how hard adoption is for all of you. Pryce is a very brave boy & you are a very brave Mama too. His anger is obviously part of the grieving process & he has had too much loss for such a young boy. I pray for strength for all of you & for many more happy days to come!
